Michael Coyle

Solicitor - Advocate, Director

Michael is Lawdit's Principal and Head of the firm's Commercial and Intellectual Property legal service. Michael has established a successful commercial legal practice on the south coast that continues to provide a high level of service to a variety of clients that include small and medium size enterprises, established and listed companies, as well as multi-national firms, leading brands and household names.

He is highly regarded for his work that includes all areas of intellectual property law (which includes e-commerce and IT fields), litigation and company-commercial matters. Naturally Michael regularly advises on non-contentious issues, including regulatory and statutory obligations. He has also been involved in many successful disputes, which include common-sense and practical solutions for his clients. Involvement has also included the high-profile patent infringement case of Sabaf v. Meneghetti (House of Lords) where he acted for MFI.

Michael also acts for a number of successful inventors and provides legal support to members of the Wessex Round Table of Inventors. He is well regarded for his proactive and helpful approach in assisting and nurturing new and innovative technology start-ups.

In addition, Michael is a guest lecturer at Southampton Solent University . Michael holds a Master of Laws degree (LL.M) from Nottingham Trent University and has authored many legal and IP articles.

Izaz Ali

Solicitor, Director

Izaz has established both a contentious and non-contentious legal service for his clients. He specialises in commercial contracts and licencing agreements at all levels, including e-commerce and media/entertainment contracts, escrow and distribution agreements, non-disclosure and confidentiality agreements. In addition Izaz also advises on and has experience of company sale/purchases and employment matters.

Izaz also has experience in commercial litigation and commercial debt recovery with successful cases before the High Court. He has handled a variety of litigation matters, including breach of contract claims and foreign debt recovery.

Izaz continues to act for a number of high-profile companies and household names as well as for local businesses and start-ups. He is well regarded for his lateral thinking and solution-focused skills, providing relevant and cost effective solutions for his clients.

Christina King

Intellectual Property Executive

Christina advises and acts for clients in respect of intellectual property law. She has particular expertise in respect of non-contentious intellectual property matters, including copyright and registered design law.

Christina has assisted on a variety of legal projects for clients and regularly advises on design right and trade mark matters.

Christina also holds a Master of Laws degree (LL.M) with letter of commendation from Nottingham Trent University and regularly writes IP articles.

Jody Tsigarides LL.B LL.M

Trainee Solicitor

Jody acts for clients in respect of all areas of intellectual property law. He has particular experience in respect of domain name disputes, comparative advertising matters and trade mark law.  

Jody has assisted on a variety of legal projects for clients including unregistered trade mark and passing off disputes, branding and trade mark portfolio management for a well known household brand, a leading motorcycle accessory manufacturer and a popular Internet-based company.

Jody has authored many legal and IP articles and is largely responsible for the content and upkeep of Lawdit’s Reading Room. He has also had various articles published in major legal journals.  

Jody also holds a Master of Laws degree (LL.M) with Merit from Southampton Solent University.

Corinne Day

Corinne acts for clients in respect of all areas of intellectual property law. She has particular experience in respect of trade mark law and brand protection.

Corinne has assisted on a variety of legal projects for clients including unregistered trade marks, and brand enforcement.

Ben Evans

Ben acts for clients in respect of all areas of intellectual property law. He has particular experience in respect of trade mark law and brand portfolio management.

Ben is currently studying for his Masters LLM in intellectual property law and hopes to complete his course in 2009.
