23-year-old Stefani Germanotta, also known as Lady Gaga, is being sued by an ex lover Rob Fusari, a song-writer and music producer who worked on hits including Destiny's Child's Bootylicious
Incidentally, Fusari has previously sued Beyonce alleging she unlawfully took the credit for the idea of using a Stevie Nicks riff.
In this case however Fusari alleges he came up with the stage name Lady Gaga and helped promote the brand that developed, helping her secure a music deal.
His lawyer Robert Meloni said:
It's an age-old story in the music business. You become famous and you turn on the person who discovered you.
The couple met in March 2006 after being introduced by a friend and Fusari asked her to play one of her songs on the studio piano, allegedly within seconds realising that she had star potential.
Fusari also claims he came up with the name Lady Gaga after trying to send a text message with the words 'Radio Gaga', a reference to the Queen song - and the predictive text function changed 'Radio' to 'Lady'.
Gaga is counter-suing Fusari claiming he took advantage of an "inexperienced performing artist" by getting her to sign a deal that was "predatory and financially abusive"
