“Your registration of this domain name, which is essentially identical to our client's trademark, is likely to cause confusion, mistake and deception, and constitutes infringement of our client's trade marks and copyright, as well as constituting unfair competition and passing off.
Offering the domain name for sale would constitute "cybersquatting," and violate our client's trademark and copyright rights.
In view of the foregoing, we demand that you immediately cancel your domain name registration and provide us with copies of the executed cancellation documents.”
You would hope not to but you may receive a letter like this one day. The first thing to do is not panic. Secondly, seek advice. You may find your local solicitor can help you, but of course we recommend you seek specialist advice. Trademarkroom can help you, contact us on 0800 862 0370.
