Who owns the rigths to the mark " Tea Party?" A question that is due to be resolved on 6th December 2010 in US District Court West Palm Beach, Florida, USA.

The original Tea Party movement concerned a group of individuals who led in the 18th century a U.S. revolt against tea taxes and British colonial rule. The Boston tea party was seen as a defining moment in the strugggle for independence. Jump a few hundred years and this Tea Party group opposes big  government,  ie Washington DC and of course President Barack Obama, who they consider a socialist. Depsite these people being largely made up of delusional crazies the dispute is quite interesting from a Trade Mark perspective. 

The case is 10:cv-80062-KAM, South Florida Tea Party, Inc. et al versus Tea Party et al.
