Trade marks as property

5 March 2010

Once a trade mark is registered, a trade mark is a form of personal property.   This is pursuant to s 22 of the Trade Marks Act 1994.  Therefore, like other types of personal property, a registered trade mark can be assigned (section 24 of the 1994 Act) or licensed (sections 28 – 30 of the 1994 Act).
